I³ Gala Entertainment
Johnny Britt
Join us for an unforgettable Gala featuring the renowned artist Johnny Britt. Enjoy an evening of music, fine dining, and celebration.
Johnny Britt's musical journey began in Cleveland, Ohio, where he picked up the trumpet at age 12 and quickly excelled. In junior high, he started a band with Arsenio Hall. Britt studied at the prestigious Conservatoire de Versailles in Paris under Roger Dellmotte, premier trumpeter for the Paris Opera. Fluent in French, he returned to the U.S. to study in Chicago, where he was discovered by Otis Williams and became the youngest musical director for The Temptations. He co-produced the Emmy Award-winning Temptations TV miniseries.
In Los Angeles, Britt founded the group Impromp2 and signed with Motown/MoJazz Records, releasing the debut CD "Your Gonna Love It" in 1995. He later pursued a solo career, recording four studio CDs: "Marvin Meets Miles," "Christmas Time Of The Year," "So Hot," and "MoJazzin'." Britt has written three #1 hit singles for Boney James and contributed to many other artists.
He was the on-camera trumpet soloist in the Oscar-nominated "La La Land" and the trumpet soloist for the Oscar-nominated "Hidden Figures." Britt is an honorary member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as the first tenor of Little Anthony and The Imperials.
